Happy Mother’s Day

I just returned from New York City and LA where my four wives and I spent the week speaking with the media about our family. It is always very gruelling, both physically and emotionally. We do the best we can to explain to others how and why we chose to be a plural family. It often seems futile as we over and over hear the words “I don’t get it”. I thank all of our readers and viewers who, whether you get it or not, do your best to understand and love our family. Thank You!

As we ended our media tour and flew home from Los Angeles I found myself marveling at my life and how wonderful my wives and children are. My thoughts went back to the night that my mother sat me down at our kitchen table and explained to me the Principle of Plural Marriage. I remember all the details, the light in the room, the color of the table, the book of scripture she opened to validate her belief. Her face was young then. She was beautiful. I was only fourteen.

My mother’s testimony burnt deep in me at that time and I spent the next seven years debating it in my mind and heart. “How do you live Plural Marriage in a world where it does not exist?” I asked myself. Well, my parents found it, and I found it. I also found love and friendship in a new faith, and romance that led to my marriage to Meri and eventually to Janelle, Christine and Robyn. These beautiful and devoted women have blessed my life with so many wonderful things. Love, happiness, spiritual growth and best of all, incredible children. I thank them for this and for their kindness and forgiveness. My life is blessed and it is all because of these five wonderful women.

Thank you mothers, from the depths of my soul, thank you.

Our Dreams

We have many dreams, but our biggest shared dream right now is to live in a VERY large house with 4 separate “apartments” or 4 houses side by side, maybe at the end of a cul-de-sac or in our own gated area.

We chose to “go public” with our family lifestyle because we wanted and hoped for a better future. A future with possibilities because of better understanding. A future where our children could choose to live whatever lifestyle they wanted without fear of separating their family. A future of being able to always claim every member of our family as they are; a father, a mother, a daughter, a son, a brother, and a sister.

People don’t like what they don’t understand and we needed those not living our lifestyle to know the differences between what they think polygamy is and what it actually is to many polygamists.

We hoped to help open up a closed society where injustices may happen because of the secrecy.

We daily strive to educate others about our choices in living in a plural family. All of the wives in this family chose to enter this family. We all were very involved and chose every wife in our family. We feel we are blessed with how our family came together.

We hope to show a good example of the love we share, the choices we and our children make and that we are raising our children with the knowledge that their life is their own and the future has endless possibilities.
